Event Details:
If you’ve ever wondered what happens after the writing is done and how to turn that into an actual book – one that truly reflects your expertise and experience – Leesa offers an honest and refreshing perspective.
Having spent more than three decades working in the fast-moving world of publishing, design, and print, Leesa Ellis of 3 ferns Self-Publishing has seen just about every publishing myth, shortcut, and mistake an author can make.
Through her work with entrepreneurs, professionals, executives, and creatives, she helps turn finished first drafts into books produced to publishing house standards. All without writers having to wade through the entire journey alone. Many authors otherwise reach the end of their writing full of excitement, only to find themselves facing a maze of decisions around editing, production, distribution, and visibility.
Leesa’s philosophy is simple: authors focus on writing the book while she and her Team handle the heavy lifting that turns it into a beautifully designed book that readers can actually discover – and buy.
Known for her refreshingly honest approach to self-publishing and the industry itself, Leesa will be busting common myths that hold writers back. From the fear that self-publishing isn’t taken seriously, to the belief that simply listing a book on Amazon guarantees that readers will find it and buy it.
She also encourages authors to think carefully about focusing too much on labels like “Amazon Best-Seller.” All will be revealed in this insightful talk with Leesa!
Her extensive experience in the industry means Leesa is not afraid to call out typical traps whilst offering occasional humorous truths about what it really takes to bring a book into the world. Leesa and her Team at 3 ferns Self-Publishing help would-be authors attain this goal with clarity and confidence.
